Dwarrowdeep

For generations the dwarves of the Northern Reaches lived secure in their great mountain fortress, Gundgathol. They built a vast city and mined the earth for its wealth. The dwarves, led by House Stoneborn and taught by their god Thaneduhr, forged artifacts and weapons of unparalleled craftsmanship. Under the mountains they grew and flourished. The dwarves befriended the first humans to settle the region and trade allowed both races to prosper.

In time, Gundgathol came under siege - not from above, but from below. The duergar, or gray dwarves, in a coordinated attack, infiltrated the city from deep subterranean tunnels. Jealous of the mountain dwarves' wealth, the duergar and their dark allies pushed House Stoneborn out of their ancestral home. The remaining dwarves retreated to the human settlement of Hamelet and vowed their revenge. In the centuries that followed, the dwarves sent warbands into the mountains, but only a handful returned. Those who did told tales of great sorrow. The majesty and grandeur of the city, the cradle of dwarven civilization, was now a bleak, half-drowned dungeon overrun with evil monsters. Today, only the dwarves refer to their sacred homeland as Gundgathol. The people of the Northern Reaches simply call it --- Dwarrowdeep.

Some say there is more to this story than meets the eye. Some say House Stoneborn keeps a dark secret known only to the dwarves...

Are you brave (or foolish) enough to explore the long dark of Dwarrowdeep?

Folio #27 : Lair of the Serpents

Le nouveau Folio est en cours de financement sur Kickstarter. Intitulé Lair of the Serpents, il propose de continuer l'aventure débuter avec The Virgin Mine.

Join the adventure as Art of the Genre continues to add content to its first new mega-dungeon in over three years!  This second part of a six phase mega-campaign is based around 1st-3rd level characters  in a completely revolutionary setting.  I've specially designed the  dungeon to breath new life into those  adventuring levels while allowing the DM the ability to create incredible story arcs with old favorite monsters like lizardmen, giant serpents, huge toads, and even early fantasy RPG video game  monsters inspired from classic crawls like Wizardry and Bard's Tale!

The Virgin Mine setting  revolves around an adventuring company moving into the wild jungles  ruins around the Imperial Capital city of Nextyaria. Here, they will  match  wits against other treasure-seeking adventuring companies as well  as the  intelligent dungeon that hosts relic treasures with nearly  unlimited power.

Folio #27 will introduce characters to the next section of the massive Virgin Mine Dungeon, the Lair of the Serpents!.  Unlike normal dungeons, this  one carries various mysteries and wrinkles that 'bend' the rules of character advancement, and strategy will need to be employed as  the party learns the ropes within the Virgin Mine Dungeon setting.  Dungeon details include 2D standard hex maps as  well as fully 3D renderings of The Lair of the Serpents section of The Virgin Mine.   A gazetteer section will give background on the new rules and the  exterior camps and companies.  Several new monsters lurk within as well  as new magical treasure.  It also features a fully removable and stand-alone cover in perfect OSR tradition! The Virgin MineThe Virgin Mine
